All Metals - General Information - RoHS 3

RoHS 3

Statement

This Declaration of Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Compliance applies to materials supplied by The Metal Centre.

The Metal Centre hereby declares that materials supplied comply with the requirements of the European Union Restriction on Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2015/863 (‘’RoHS’’) and UK Legislation Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2012 (as amended).

The Metal Centre confirms that the listed RoHS restricted substances are not intentionally added to the materials and that any unintentional amount of the restricted substances found are within the relevant limitations of the RoHS directive.

  • Lead (Pb): < 1000 ppm
  • Mercury (Hg): < 1000 ppm
  • Cadmium (Cd): < 100 ppm
  • Hexavalent Chromium: (Cr VI) < 1000 ppm
  • Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB): < 1000 ppm
  • Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE): < 1000 ppm
  • Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): < 1000 ppm
  • Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP): < 1000 ppm
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP): < 1000 ppm
  • Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP): < 1000 ppm
  • Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) (0.1%),

The Metal Centre does not manufacture any products, or supply to the end user customer, thus restricting our involvement and knowledge of their usage.

Where requested, The Metal Centre may carry out processes for the customer, such as surface finishing (polishing -grit belts / silicon belts), which do not affect the structure of the metals. These substances listed above are not added during the surface finishing process and may only be present as unavoidable trace impurities in concentrations well below the specified limits.

The Metal Centre has no compliance obligations under RoHS with regard to heavy metals in electrical equipment.

The Metal Centre contacts its current supply base to verify their compliance with appropriate legislation.

The only exception to compliance may occur where a grade of material is ordered by a customer, which requires the addition of one or more of the substances in order to comply with the standard/grade conditions of the British, European or International Standard. In this case, the material will contain a value of each substance in line with the standard requirements.

This statement is reviewed on a regular basis, in line with legislation.
